LYRIC

I could sit here and wait forever
Listening in the dark
Seeking a trace of insight
Waiting for something to start

It's likely I'll begin to force it
Out of desperate response
But if you were to say it, the skeptic aside
I'd believe whatever you want

And peace can be kind
But it's been a long time

I guess it takes patience
And a little bit of science
You'll find the ovations
On the other end of silence

I'll begin to mark all my words
It's nobody else's task
Assuming it's a test of self-determination
Then I've only myself to ask

How long do I wait
Before I create

Bridging the nights right into mornings
Losing sight of apathy's warnings
Learning to coexist
As a patient scientist
