LYRIC

This pre-dawn effulgence
This refracted light
Of dewfall at daybreak
The heady flight
Of murmurating starlings
Rousing the air
A whirr of thousand bird wings
Maidens’ floating hair

I’ll die with this beauty
In front of holy fountains
To fulfill my duty
At the feet of the mountains

The pre-dawn effulgence
The refracted light
Of dewfall at daybreak
An eventual rite
White frost covers the plains
Like a ceremonial cloak
Hiding the old bloodstains
Around the sacred oak

Sky is my temple
With pillars of mist
Light is my faith that shines
Through a cloud rift
As white frost covers the fields
It glares like a ritual knife
Into the wound that never heals
And consumes my soul from inside

So change the seasons
The circle of life
Inflame again the beacons
A mountain bonfire
White frost covers the plains
Like a ceremonial cloak
Overlies the bloodstains
Around the sacred oak

Sky is my temple
With pillars of mist
Light is my faith that shines
Through a cloud rift
As white frost covers the fields
It glares like a ritual knife
Into the wound that never heals
And consumes my soul
My soul from inside
