LYRIC

I built a raft.
It took me seven weeks, every second wanting you back.

Kicked off the curb,
Hoping what I’d learnt could help me navigate the flood.

I fought the pull,
But all the rain coming down made that impossible.

Roads turn to rivers and I'm lost out there;
I'm chasing a moment that we should have shared.
We were cold outside; we could lean in close,
We were both beside who we needed most.

And we don’t like scissors to come near the ropes,
And we both get jealous when we can’t get close.
We were closing down, we were closer in,
We were curving round one another’s skin.

Once was alone,
Now you’re looking down from every street lamp of the road.

The water folds,
I'm a seed; I am lost, I am dust. You’re the wind; you take hold.

Put my feet down,
For the first time this week, my toes sink into the ground.

And I've decided to be yours,
A berry bursts in every moment of your voice.

In
Your
Mouth
There’s
Earth
Quakes
And
Flares

Hold
My
Hand
So
I
Can
Stand
Up

Roads turn to rivers and I'm lost out there;
I'm chasing a moment that we should have shared.
We were cold outside; we could lean in close,
We were both beside who we needed most.

And you promised forever, and I promised too,
And always remember I'm in love with you,
When we’re cold outside and we lean in close,
And we’re both beside who we need the most.
